A birdwatcher enjoys watching birds, a twitcher will go to extreme lengths to see rare species, a birder is somewhere in the middle, someone extra keen on birds and with a inexplicable urge to paint, photograph or write about them. I moved to the south of France with the specific purpose of being a birder.
I started as a kid using watercolour while growing up in North London, then during 3 years in Mexico I experimented using different media. Since I moved to France 10 years ago I have focused mainly on using acrylic in a style which I have developed through my many experiences.
This series of illustrations focuses on some common species we find in both the U.K, and France, with one rather more exotic species that we can find in the local area.
