After years dedicated to supporting others in care, it was almost natural for me to return to art, abandoned a long time ago. By participating in a workshop with André Lévita (Monet Association of Saint Gély du Fesc) I was able to learn watercolors for the first time.
Through its simple and eternal beauty, nature makes us feel the permanence of the world despite the turbulence of life. The inevitable return of the seasons highlights the smallness of man and reminds us that even in its fragility, life is constantly regenerating. However, it is up to man to protect it so that it protects him in return and lavishes its benefits on him.
Watercolor is a painting technique made with pigments diluted in water. On damp paper, water allows the pigments to diffuse, spread out and mix naturally with the other colors. But water evaporates quite quickly, so you have to paint precisely and seize the right moment to achieve the
desired effect. You also have to accept being surprised by the spontaneity of the mixtures…
Unlike oil or acrylic paint, it is difficult to make touch-ups without altering the entire work.
There is little room for error, which requires a lot of patience and practice.
